Sylvie Goulard

Member, European Parliament

Sylvie Goulard, French MEP, is ALDE Coordinator of the Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee, where she is currently rapporteur for the European Systemic Risk Board report and working closely with the other rapporteurs on the European Financial Supervision package. She is also a full member of the Special Crisis Committee and a substitute member of the Agriculture and Rural Development Committee.

After the ENA, Sylvie began her professional life serving as a diplomat in the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs (legal department) and the French Conseil d’Etat. This was followed by a period at the French Policy Planning Staff (in charge of Franco-German relations and EU matters). She also worked as a Research Associate for the Centre d’études et de recherches internationales (Sciences Po, Paris). Between 2001-2004 Sylvie was a member of the group of political advisors to Romano Prodi, President of the European Commission. She teaches at the College of Europe (Bruges).

In December 2006 Sylvie was elected President of the European Movement, France and was re-elected in December 2008.
