Philippe Maystadt
President, European Investment Bank (EIB).
Philippe Maystadt’s career has included various key posts within the Belgian Government over a period spanning almost twenty years. He was Minister of Finance during ten years (1988-1998) and Chairman of the MFC of the International Monetary Fund during five years (1993-1998).
Author of numerous studies and publications in the field of economic and financial law, he has also been a Professor at the Faculty of Law of the Catholic University of Louvain. Philippe Maystadt chaired several high-level committees in European and international financial organisations before being appointed as President of the European Investment Bank on 1st January 2000.
