Laurent Vigier

Director of European and International Affairs, Caisse des Dépôts Group, France.

Laurent Vigier, 39 years old, Counsellor for Foreign Affairs, is the Director of European and International Affairs of the Caisse des Dépôts Group, its permanent representative to the European institutions, and a member of the Group’s management committee.

Mr. Vigier is a graduate of France’s Ecole Nationale d’Administration (an alumnus of the "Valmy" class) and also of the Ecole Normale Supérieure - Ulm. He holds a postgraduate "Aggregation" degree in History and a Masters degree in political science.

In 1998, he joined the French Foreign Ministry’s external affairs department in the Directorate for European Cooperation. From 2002 to 2003 he was senior advisor for EU enlargement, relations with CEECs, CAP, fisheries, and General Affairs Council on the staff of the French Minister for European Affairs. From 2003 to 2007 he was a member of the French President’s staff, in charge of multilateral issues from 2003 to 2006, and European Affairs from 2006 to 2007. In July 2007, he joined the Caisse des Dépôts Group.
