Jacques de Larosière

Chairman of the Strategic Committee of the French Treasury and Chairman of the de Larosière Report

Education : Paris University, Institut d’Etudes Politiques, and Ecole Nationale d’Administration.

Jacques de Larosière entered the French Treasury in 1958 where he worked mostly on international financial matters. From 1974 to 1978 he was Undersecretary for Monetary Affairs. From 1978 to 1987, he was elected Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). He was appointed Governor of the Banque de France from 1987 to 1993, and President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) from 1993 to 1998.

Currently he holds the position of Advisor to the Chairman at BNP Paribas 1998. President of the Observatoire de l’Epargne Européenne -OEE- 1999, Co-Chairman of Eurofi, 2000, Co-Chairman of the "Committee on Crisis Management and Crisis Resolution in Emerging Markets" of the Institute of International Finance, 2003-2009. He was a Trustee of Reuters Founders Share Company Limited (1999-2004). Member of the Group of Trustees for the Principles for Emerging Markets, 2006. He is the Chairman of the Strategic Committee of the Agence France Trésor, 2004. He is Chairman of the Advisory Board of MidEuropa Fund (2006). Member of the International Advisory Board of China Development Bank (2005-2009). Member of the Board of Directors of France Telecom (1998-2009). He is a director of the Stichting NYSE Euronext (the Dutch Foundation) and trustee of NYSE Group Trust I (the U.S. Trust) (april 2007).

He is a member of the "Académie des Sciences Morales et Politiques" of the Institut de France. He is Commandeur of the Legion d’Honneur, KBE and a member of the French Society of the Cincinnati.
