Mr Derrick Wan is Director (Governance & Investments) at the Ministry of Finance, Singapore. He oversees policy areas covering Government investments as well as corporate governance matters. Prior to joining the Ministry of Finance, he spent 3 years as Director of Investments and Projects at the Singapore national pension fund, the Central Provident Fund Board. He has also held appointments in the Ministry of Manpower, Ministry of Law and Ministry of Defense.
He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Chartered Alternative Investments Analyst (CAIA) charter holder. He also holds a Professional Risk Manager (PRM) certification and a Masters in Financial Engineering from the University of Singapore. He was awarded an Overseas Merit Scholarship to study at the University of York, England, where he graduated with First Class Honours (with Distinction) in Economics and Econometrics 1995. He obtained a Masters in Business Administration from Columbia Business School in 2005.
