Among the first common achievements of the members, two major equity investment funds : the ‘Marguerite’ fund and the ‘InfraMed Infrastructure Fund

The “Marguerite” fund (“2020 European Fund for Energy, Climate Change and Infrastructure”) aims to support strategic European investments with resources coming from the European Commission, the EIB and the five major European public financial institutions (CDC, KfW, ICO, PKO and CDP). The first close was completed on March 3, 2010 with a volume of EUR 710 million and the final close is scheduled mid 2012 with EUR 1.5 billion target size.

InfraMed

InfraMed

The InfraMed Infrastructure Fund was set up by CDC and CDP together with EIB, Morocco’s CDG and Egypt’s EFG-Hermes Holding SAE. The Fund is dedicated to long-term investments in sustainable urban transportation and energy infrastructures in the countries of the southern and eastern shores of the Mediterranean Sea. The First Close was completed on May 25, 2010 with an initial commitment of EUR 385 million and the Final Close is scheduled by the end of 2012 with EUR 1 billion target size. First financing facility of the Union for the Mediterranean, InfraMed will be the largest fund dedicated to investments in infrastructure in the Southern and Eastern Mediterranean.
